Job Description

Main Duties
 
  • Set and optimise injection mould machine conditions and carry out multi-skilled tasks within competence limits.
  • Conduct mould trials and ensure tools (new or modified) meet acceptable production standards.
  • Liaise with Mould shop team leader and Quality department when conducting tool trials.
  • Take part in bi – monthly PFMEA meetings with the team.
  • Conduct barrel strips and greasing of machines in line with maintenance schedule.
  • Work closely and mentor mould shop apprentice to reach a high standard.
  • Ensure tasks and outputs are to acceptable standards in accordance with Company quality policy and procedures.
  • Observe and adopt safe working practices in accordance with Company health and safety policy and all relevant health and safety legislation; i.e.. HASAWA 1974 etc.
  • Undertake training necessary for development as agreed with team leader.     
  • Communicate problems affecting role or responsibilities to team leader.        
  • Recognise customers and promote satisfaction.         
  • Operate equipment and machinery for which they are authorised.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed.
 
Working a flexible 36 hour week on day
 
 

Qualifications

Ideally NVQ level 4, ONC or equivalent with 5 years experience.
 
Working knowledge of metrology/gauging/quality tools/ quality systems.
 
Ability and discipline to work to Company procedures.
 
Practical understanding of processes, materials, methods employed within Manufacturing Mould shop.
