Job Description

Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently recruiting for an Equipment Operator 1 in our Airdrie, Alberta facility.  
 
Primary Function:
 
Reporting to the Production Manager, this position is responsible for spot welding and operating small punch presses to perform steps in the fabrication of a part for production.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Mark orders as started or completed on DMM
  • Set up and operate the spot weld machine, spot weld various parts and deliver them to the appropriate station
  • Conduct periodic destructive tests on the weld
  • Set up and operate a variety of machines for fabricating specific parts, e.g., small punch presses
  • Ensure the long-term integrity of  equipment
  • Perform all job functions with adherence to Eaton’s Philosophy and Values as well as the Safety and Environmental Standards

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent level of education required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
  • Must live within 80km of Airdrie. No relocation benefits provided. 

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be a team player
  • Candidates with knowledge/experience reading basic wiring schematic symbols will be given preference.
  • Candidates with experience using small punch press and spot welding will be given preference.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment will be an asset, but not necessary as training will be provided.
