Job Description

Responsible to manage the development and the deployment of several direct material commodities for the Hydraulics Filtration division. Supported commodities will include castings, machined components, steel, filter fabric/material, plastics, subassemblies, and others.

 

This global role will assist in the development and management of sourcing strategies, responsible for managing the commodity in the sourcing, supplier selection and relationship building with key suppliers. The Commodity Lead executes direct material cost out projects and strategies.

Essential functions:

  • Develop, plan, monitor and execute direct material cost down projects.
  • Implement and execute on global commodity sourcing strategies to effectively leverage Eaton’s global Filtration spend
  • Help keep commodity strategies aligned with latest internal and external environmental, market and economic factors.
  • Negotiates and manages key strategic supplier agreements,  cost negotiations and relationships
  • Manage the supplier quality interface (APQP) to ensure that PPAP requirements are understood and met
  • Manage the supplier identification and selection for New Product Development projects for assigned commodities.
  • Develop positive relationships with suppliers and demonstrates Eaton’s ethics, values and philosophy.
  • Conducts Supplier Business Reviews with strategic suppliers on a regular basis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum 3 years of Manufacturing, Engineering, or Supply Chain experience
  • Proficient in spoken and written English & German.

Preferred:

  • Minimum 5 years of Supply Chain experience for a global manufacturer
  • Project Management experience
  • Buying and strategic procurement experience
