Eaton’s Aerospace group has an opening for a Manufacturing Process Engineer-Aftermarket. This role can we located at our facilities in Jackson, MS, Los Angeles, CA, or Euclid, OH.
The Manufacturing Process Engineer for Aftermarket will be responsible to analyze manufacturing methods and find efficient alternatives to impact reduction of Turn-Around-Time across the aftermarket operations. The Process Engineer will be responsible for delivering regular recommendations on how to maintain staff levels and lower costs, while meeting all of the quality standards set forth by the company and government regulations. The successful candidate will work side-by-side with the aftermarket transformation team, site management staff and external consultants to discover inefficiencies in manufacturing  processes and then determine the best ways to bring our business methods in line with our financial goals. Manufacturing Process Engineer operates within the EAG manufacturing organization and requires investigation and analysis of production methods, and/or capital equipment requirement to increase production efficiency and reduce production costs, which might involve modification of current production methods. 
Essential Functions:
  • Research, design, and develop processes to optimize productivity and workflow.
  • Determine the organization and setup of operations.
  • Create and develop standard procedures and processes.
  • Collect data for analysis to uncover areas for improvements and innovation (i.e. time studies, PQPR, VSMs)
  • Analyze, evaluate, and test new and existing processes.
  • Use process simulation software to determine the best production methods.
  • Oversee implementation of new processes and procedures.
  • Examine existing processes and suggest improvements.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot any problems that arise with new processes, procedures, and operations.
  • Contribute to development of health and safety standards
  • Write reports to document all process changes
  • Clearly communicate ideas and findings to management and colleagues
  • Assist teams in carrying out implementation of the new procedures
  • Persuade others—functional and site leaders—to implement the process modifications and new approaches
  • Assist Product Support in determining overhaul and repair capability.
  • Perform root cause and failure analysis as required.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives by leading cost-out events and promoting a culture of continuous improvements to eliminate waste and deliver products to customer expectations.
  • Compose capital appropriation requests to support deployment of new processes..
  • Ability to successfully operate within a union environment by building rapport and professional work relationships with all employees.
  • Develop and maintain robust, cost efficient manufacturing processes and product structures consistent with Eaton Lean Manufacturing.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Industrial engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee
  • No relocation offered. Only candidates that currently reside with a 50 mile radius of Jackson, MS; Euclid, OH; or Los Angeles, CA will be considered for this role.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in aerospace industry (Repair Station a plus)
  • Experience working with MFGPro and Seibel systems.
  • Experience in process improvement and layout architecture 
  • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerances
  • 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Shop floor oriented
  • CI experience or certification
  • Lean certification
