Primary Function:
 
The Vice President Corporate HR Asia Pacific is an exciting opportunity to join the HR Leadership Team and be part of the Corporate HR function.  The role is a member of the Eaton HR Leadership Team led by Global CHRO, and is a direct report of the Senior Vice President Corporate HR.  This role ensures voice of the region at the HR leadership level and is part of the team collectively informing, deciding and aligning the overall HR strategy with the business and function priorities across the region. The Corporate HR leader for Asia Pacific role is dedicated to providing trusted HR partnership to the region HR and business leaders and HR subject matter expertise to the region HR team. This role will provide the selected candidate with an opportunity to advance their leadership and HR skills and knowledge by working on global HR initiatives and challenges across the enterprise network of HR and functional leaders.
 
The Vice President Corporate HR Asia Pacific is the leader for the Corporate HR CoE teams including: Talent Management & Organization Effectiveness, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Relations and  Eaton University, HR Services & Talent Acquisition.    The role also provides HR Business Partner support for the  Corporate team.  This role also serves along with the Region Finance leader to manage and govern region plans and programs as well as alignment with the region business strategies and priorities. This position requires working with region, sector and global stakeholders to ensure overall strategy and work priorities are aligned and optimized. 
 
As the region Corporate HR leader, the incumbent champions the teams that design/localize, develop and deploy HR policies and programs to meet the talent and organizational needs in Asia Pacific, provide centralized and standardized HR Services and talent acquisition to support business growth and provide governance, compliance and expertise. Championing the overall communication strategy for the region and China facilities needs is also a component of the role.
 
Major Responsibilities:
  • Lead, develop and execute corporate Asia Pacific HR strategy, in alignment with Corporate HR functions globally and HR strategies from business sectors in the region. Lead key strategic initiatives and create forum with region HR business leaders to align key decisions and priorities.
  • Continue to enhance organization capability by attracting, developing and retaining talent for corporate HR and communications Asia Pacific. Drive learning environment for Corporate team. Champion strong employee engagement and making work exciting and meaningful.  Serve as role model for Eaton Vision, leader attributes and business & aspirational goals.
  • Continue to improve efficiency and effectiveness of corporate HR functions through the sponsorship and support of learning  and projects of continuous improvement in processes and technology that drive a strong customer experience.
  • Partner with internal customers, including business leaders and HR leaders to ensure corporate HR provides support in talent attraction, development and retention, as well as HR process governance for business priorities.
  • Promote Eaton employer branding and value proposition to external target audiences in region, including university relations, major recruitment channels and social media.
  • Serve as a member of corporate Asia Pacific leadership team, collaborating with other corporate function and region business leaders in decision making and driving employee communications and engagement across the region.
  • Provide leadership support to facility China team on daily operations and key strategic projects.
  • Provide leadership support to Corporate Communication teams on daily operations and key strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Manage overall budgets and profit plan for Corporate HR teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree with 15+ years working experience, preferably with multinational companies. More than 5 years of managerial experience. Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, both writing and speaking.
  • Business acumen – Strong understanding of business needs that must be factored into corporate HR strategy.  
  • Strategic mindset – continually focused on the strategic impact of talent strategy and talent programs.
  • Continuous improvement mindset – focus on improvement of HR processes, governance processes and other corporate internal processes.
  • External HR network of peer companies and multinational companies in Asia to understand industry trends of HR policies, practices and programs.
  • Leadership style – ability to engage and champion Eaton initiatives for direct and indirect team as well as the region.
