Job Description

Eaton has an opening for a Material Handler on the Late (Day) shift in Watertown, WI.
Hours: 10:00am-6:30 pm.
Hours are not limited to eight hours and overtime will be required on an “as needed “basis to ensure on-time delivery is met to support the financial goals of the company.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Material Handling position is responsible for functions supporting all material handling functions including but not limited to picking, packet printing, packing, receiving and shipping.
This position will be asked to flex and support shipping, receiving, packing, picking and packet printing according to business needs.
This individual is required to work within a team environment.
Safety is of the highest priority consequently PPE protection and daily safety audits and inspections are required.
Essential Functions:
  • High level of safety awareness
  • Communicate effectively with supply chain team and operations
  • Provide highest level of customer service to internal teams
  • Participate and contribute to the completion of team goals
  • If not yet certified, will be certified of all powered lift equipment and powered industrial trucks within the first few weeks/month
  • Perform other Supply Chain duties and responsibilities as necessary
  • Actively participate of Annual Physical Inventory
  • Create daily ship list
  • Cut and confirm Vista shippers
  • Load trucks as needed
  • Coordinate shipment details by calling appropriate carrier and arranging the shipment by identifying the date, special pickup arrangements, etc.)
  • Account for outgoing freight and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Knowledge of UPS and Fed Express Equipment
  • Operate wrapping and packaging  equipment
  • Ensure visitors entering the facility through the dock are following plant safety policy
  • Unload trucks as needed
  • Receive into stock small and large package material
  • Store and arrange materials in all inventory storage areas
  • Complete mfg/pro transactions as necessary
  • Restock sheet metal kanbans
  • Update Hot Parts List
  • Ensure visitors entering the facility through the dock are following plant safety policy
  • Know and understand stock location procedures for picking and stocking material
  • Update daily backlog when needed
  • Print assembly packets
  • Pick parts per parts list provided in packets
  • Support cycle count program
  • Support recycling program
  • Stock production Kanban bins when needed
Packet Printing
  • Print packets for all production lines
  • Verify correct drawings revisions printed
  • Print all appropriate labels
  • Update status on backlog
  • Deliver to Planner
  • Operate wrapping and packing equipment
  • Knowledge of UPS and Fed Express Equipment
  • Ensure corrugate supplies are adequate for daily shipments
  • Manage packing supply kanbans


Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • Must reside within 50 miles of Watertown, WI to be considered. No relocation benefits provided.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous powered industrial truck experience is preferred.
Position Criteria
  • Ability to become certified  in the operation of the required power equipment and cardboard baler to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Must have strong basic math, reading, and writing skills
  • Employee must demonstrate solid reasoning skills and act on them to ensure the quality of their work. 
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision. 
  • The ability to follow directions, work quickly, with little error, and adjust to a variety of duties and time constraints is essential.
  • Employee must be willing to participate in training opportunities.
  • Must have basic Microsoft Office (Outlook for email and Excel specifically), MFGPro and VISTA skills
  • Incumbent is responsible for complying with environmental and security rules and procedures.

    *   Inspection of equipment
    *   Loading materials. 
    *   Moving of material and finished goods.

Lifting:   (Essential)
    *  Duration is frequent throughout the day.
    *  Maximum weight for individual lift is 40 pounds, lifting from floor to cart
    * Team lift used for items over 40 pounds
    *  Lift heights vary from floor to over the head.  Lifting to stock and pick parts.
        Loading skids
Carry:  (Essential)
    *  Duration is frequent throughout the day.
    *  Carry boxes, packages
    *  Level is at waist height
    *  Outgoing materials, paperwork, tools
Rotation:  (Essential)
    *  Duration is occasionally, throughout the day
    *  Labeling, entering data, barcoding
