Plant Manager
 
Location: Bielsko-Biala, Poland
 
 
Eaton’s production site in Bielsko-Biala was launched in 2005 and currently employs more than 700 people. The product portfolio covers Engine Valves, Lifters and Valve Actuation, which are supplied to global automotive customers.
 
This Plant Manager position is responsible for the overall leadership, management and P&L of an automotive manufacturing plant in a challenging market environment. Overall responsibility for leading plant teams in achieving production schedule, product quality, product cost, and employee safety goals. Provides leadership to all functional and service groups to meet customer requirements. Drives performance to achieve or exceed financial plans and strategic goals. Leverages resources and motivates personnel to create a high performance culture.  Plant Manager plays a role of employer in the light of local labour law and represents the site before local authorities.
 
Essential functions:
 
  • Coordinate plant activities through the planning with departmental managers to insure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner
  • Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards. Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries
  • Develop and maintain compliance with Quality System plan and maintain ISO /TS Certification
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Address employees’ issues or grievances and administer collective bargaining agreements
  • Develop existing plant human resources to maximize value while assuring compliance to all state, and corporate regulations
  • Maintain and maximize the utilization of the corporate assets of plant building and grounds, machine tools, process equipment, computer systems and material inventories
  • Develop effective communications and spirit of teamwork between the plant operation and field sales, customers, other division plants and the division staff
  • Develop and implement plans to enhance the quality of work life within the plant by assuring that open channels of communication exist with employees; and clean, safe working conditions are maintained
  • Commit to plant safety procedures. Be the driver for full compliance to Eaton's internal Environmental Health and Safety Program's (i.e. MEHS) goals and objectives
  • Assure compliance with established accounting practices for the control and reporting of financial performance
  • Plan and direct facilities investments to improve productivity and provide production capacity consistent with sales volume objectives
  • Establish and maintain a professional relationship with all employee representative levels (e.g. Works councils)
  • Represent the corporation in community service and professional organizations
  • Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts
  • Assure compliance with EHS regulations, IATF 16949 & ISO 14001, ISO 50.001
  • Manage projects and actively participate in projects processes
  • Participate in audits e.g. 5S, IATF 16949, LPA, LOTO, observation of behaviours

Qualifications

Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business; MBA Preferred
  • A minimum of 5-7 years equivalent experience with progressive levels of responsibility in manufacturing, engineering, finance, sales, etc.
  • Working knowledge of current manufacturing, engineering, materials/purchasing and quality assurance methods and practices
  • A thorough understanding of financial practices and financial statements
  • Administrative knowledge in information systems, human resources and in controlling key projects and plant initiatives
  • Strong leadership, motivational, & interpersonal skills
  • Polish native speaker, fluent in English language
