Job Description


1. CORE FUNCTION
Reporting directly to the EHS Manager, we currently have a requirement for an  EHS Assistant,  to support in daily and weekly activities at the Brierley Hill facility and support Eaton initiatives.  In this position the successful candidate will support the EHS Manager with the deployment of MESH elements to ensure compliance, and drive towards a zero incident safety culture.
 
2. RESPONSIBILITIES
The activities include but are not limited to:
  • Supervise and undertake the completion of risk assessments across the site and track actions to closure, including the deployment of Non Routine Risk Assessments.
  • Support MESH champions and teams including coaching and training of MESH elements.
  • EHS Representation at daily tier 2 meetings.
  • Support area owners in EHS 8D route cause analysis for accidents / incidents.
  • EHS Coaching and support within RIE activities etc.
  • Supervise and  Monitor Annual EHS training plan.
  • EHS support during EHS Manager absence.
  • Carry out Daily Safety Gemba Walks and report findings.
  • Facilitate Site Safety Committee meetings.
  • Liaise with HR Dept. on H&S matters and conduct site inductions.
  • Support inputting of EHS data into the Roadmap and share point site.
  • Promote Zero Incident Culture.
  • Ensure data is inputted into Roadmap & share point site in a timely manner.
  • Promote the use of MESH for all EHS events.
  • Fire Warden / Evacuation coordinator.
  • First point of contact for EHS related issues.
 
3. KEY METRICS
  • MESH compliance.
  • Risk Assessment completion 90%> & closure of actions raised.
  • Deploy & Supervise EHS training plan 90%> completion.
  • EHS Training completion.
  • 90% on time completion of Incident 8D.
  • COSHH Assessment program 90%> completion.

Essential Skills / Qualification Requirement
  • The ideal candidate will be HNC,A level, NVQ 3, HND qualified, or equivalent  level of Health & Safety training, IOSH accreditation or other practical attainment.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or A level qualifications preferable.
  • Knowledge of Environmental & COSHH legislation.
  • Inspired & Self-motivated individual – able to act on their own initiative.
  • Possess excellent time management skills.
  • Possess excellent skills and ability to communicate and articulate discussions at all levels.
  • Strong Attention to detail.
  • Proficient on Microsoft Office Products.
  • Health & Safety qualification, IOSH accredited or other practical attainment.
