Job Description


Responsible for Implementing Strategies and focus around Software and Connectivity technologies and products. Build and leverage synergies between various Sector division and CoE. As part of Center of Excellence team, provides leadership in the development of Application and Embedded software. Cooperates with teammates from Eaton India Innovation Center (Pune) and Electrical & Industrial sector divisions in North America for New Product Developments, Sustaining Engineering and Continuous Improvements. Manages & Develops Software team supporting Vehicle Service Engineering division in close coordination with various product & technology group requirements. Build Organization Capabilities – Hire and development plans for the talents for lighting business division.

Manages Diverse Multiple Software teams from multiple locations. Provides leadership for the team to meet its short and long term goals.




Provide leadership to innovate new differentiating products and services. Lead strategic initiatives to improve the timelines and quality of deliverables.




Lead innovation events to shape ideas from the team. As part of CoE lead development of high quality software  for business divisions in Electrical and Industrial sector




Lead design and development of Software applications for Web, Mobile and PC based applications. Coordinates in development of extendable and high quality software strategies and proven technologies.




Inclusion of hardware interfaces, communication links (networks) and graphical user interface based on  product specifications  and architecture definitions. Conducts Software Reviews to requirement analysis and software design. Identification of deviations from the requirements analysis, other errors and improvements.




Synergies and leverage engineering capabilities across groups. Manages department budget and performance to forecast.




Recruits and retain a team of engineers and support staff to provide both local product development and engineering services to the global engineering lighting needs.

Train, develop & motivate subordinates to achieve their professional goals & review their accomplishments.




Develop and control the schedule and direct the work in order to effectively manage time.

Monitor progress & achievements on projects. Provide regular reports on development & support activities.



Manage and develop people: identify, attract and develop key engineering talent for the organization.



Utilizes DFSS & Agile concepts / tools for new product development &/or existing product improvements. Teach, Mentor and Coach DfX & Agile SCRUM for EIIC engineering community.

Drive Functional excellence through Continuous improvement using CI methodology.




Understand stakeholder requirements and communicate them to other Eaton teams, and act as the liaison for program activities as appropriate.















































·        Bachelors with minimum 10+ years relevant experience with few years in leadership & people management.

·        Sound knowledge & demonstrated experience of full software development life cycle on

multiple projects including requirements, design, development, verification & validation,  

qualification & certification.

·        Ability to learn, understand and extend existing software packages, written in C#, Java or C++

·        Strong knowledge in the programming languages C#, Java

·        Deep knowledge in MS-Windows-programming technologies and tools like MFC, MS-Visual-Studio,

·        Experience in programming of user applications and programs on Windows 7

·        Good knowledge of the structure and functionality of embedded microcontrollers.

·        Knowledge in automation technology, serial communication protocols and embedded controllers and operating systems beneficial (Base) Experience with SysML / UML

·        Experience with quality and reliability topics like MISRA or code metrics

·        Proven skills in hiring and developing technical talent around the software development life                                                               cycle.

·        Sound Knowledge and experience with process frameworks like SPICE or CMMi  including requirements management, defect tracking, build management, change management, and configuration management tools

·        Experience collaborating with local / global suppliers for Hardware/Software procurement, building test lab setups etc. Hands on experience with Emulators and simulators.

Excellent communications skills. A high degree of aptitude, creativity is required.
