Job Description

The Eaton Kearney plant has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer. 
 
The primary objective of this position is to identify areas of inefficiency (productivity, quality, safety) within the manufacturing areas and use Six Sigma tools to make improvements while minimizing cost.
Essential Functions:
  • Identifies processes within the manufacturing areas to improve, using problem solving tools and methodologies.
  • Leads cross-functional project teams, documenting cost savings.
  • Supports manufacturing by participating on teams and assisting with corrective actions.
  • Uses data and statistical analysis to support testing and process changes.
  • Implements improvement ideas that result from project teams.
  • Actively participates in Focus Factory team, leading & supporting activities related to the team’s goals of Safety, Quality, and Productivity
  • Utilizes Management of Change to ensure all systems are reviewed and updated with all project improvement changes
  • Leads safety Initiatives to help ensure compliance with corporate wide requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership in the selection, design, development, and installation of cost effective manufacturing processes and techniques.
  • Lead capital projects from initiation phase through installation & startup, including resource management, machine purchases, machine runoffs, and operator/maintenance training. 
  • Other duties as needed and assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution required
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Lean/Six Sigma trainings or certifications
  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams
  • AutoCAD, SolidWorks
  • Forge press operations
  • Gear Forging
  • Heat Treat
  • Blast and Drum operations
  • Tool and Die design
  • Robotic forging
  • PLC programming
  • Automotive industry experience
  • High volume manufacturing environment experience
